The first drops of DOZEUR were spilled on a hot summer day in a garage near Bruges, Belgium.

Remarkably, the very first machine named Doseur saw daylight in a garage in Bruges too, about 60 years ago.

Doseur-peseur

It was Jean Pattyn who designed and developed a ‘doseur-peseur’ in the early 60’s. It weighed and dosed products, mainly for food companies.

Nowadays,

PATTYN is a Belgian export company, still manufacturing weighing and filling machines. Only, it now has over 400 people scattered around the world, passionate to make the most of their work and eager to take customers on a fulfilling journey.

Pieter and his passion

When one of the project managers, Pieter Vanhaecke, turned out to be a master brewer, he was asked to brew a beer, custom-made for PATTYN.

It had to be a unique brew: blond, well dosed, with the perfect mix of ingredients.

And - above all - it had to bring all PATTYN-people together so they can cherish the moments shared with customers, suppliers and stake holders. An ode to teamwork.

The first drops

That is how the first PATTYN-brew was born in Pieter’s garage. As a Belgian blond, containing three types of malt and two types of hops. An alliance of craftsmanship and camaraderie, perfectly dosed.

What’s in a name?

When it came to giving the beer a name, no one came up with a valuable one, at first. It was branding agency SKINN that named it DOZEUR. PATTYN was delighted with it, as the beer will now stay a reference to the automated filling lines grandpa Pattyn once made and which they keep manufacturing today. So things have come full circle.

Ever since, colleagues and customers of Pattyn share it at company events and trade fairs, to celebrate their collaboration and as a ‘doze of gratitude’ for the moments spent together.

DOZEUR. For fulfilling moments.
